The School will host 50 to 70 selected participants, in addition to 8 keynote speakers.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Postdoctoral fellows supported by funding agencies operating in Brazil (including FAPESP, CAPES, CNPq, and state research foundations – FAPs);
• FAPESP fellows under Young Investigator (JP1, JP2), Initial Projects (PI), and Generation Project (Projeto Geração) modalities who have previously completed a postdoctoral fellowship;
• Fellowships or research projects must have been active at any time during 2026 (documentation confirming this will be required);
• Candidates must conduct research in Brazil in knowledge fields within the scope of Exact & Natural Sciences, Engineering & Medicine;
• Must be regularly enrolled in an eligible program, without formal employment ties;
• Must not have participated in previous editions of the FAPESP Interdisciplinary Schools;
• Must submit all required documentation through the online application platform by the specified deadline.

Selection Process:

• Selection will be carried out by anonymous lottery using a computerized system among all eligible applicants who meet the stated criteria.
• The active fellowship from an official funding agency will be considered proof of scientific merit regarding the research project.
• The selection results will be published on the event website and are final (no appeals allowed).

FAPESP will provide full support for selected participants covering:

• Transportation: Exclusively between the fellow’s host institution and the event location. Airfare will be reimbursed under FAPESP norms (economy class, up to a predetermined cap established by the committee; fares exceeding the limit require prior approval). Intercity and interstate bus tickets will be reimbursed according to FAPESP guidelines. Scheduled shuttle van services will operate between designated airports/bus terminals and the event hotel;
• Accommodation: Provided in shared double rooms at the event hotel;
• Meals: Complete meals provided exclusively to selected participants throughout the event.

Note: Support for participation does not imply any institutional employment tie with FAPESP or any cash remuneration. Each participant is responsible for health insurance and extra personal expenses during the event period.

The 8 keynote speakers were selected by the organizing committee appointed by FAPESP’s Scientific Directorate, representing high-impact contributors across Exact & Natural Sciences, Engineering & Medicine areas:

• Risto Ilmoniemi (Aalto University School of Science, Espoo, Finland) – Professor Emeritus, Department of Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering.
• Dráulio Barros de Araújo (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte – UFRN, Brazil) – Full Professor at the Brain Institute.
• Carlos Monteiro (Universidade de São Paulo – USP, Brazil) – Professor Emeritus at the School of Public Health (FSP/USP); Founder and former coordinator of Nupens/USP (Center for Epidemiological Studies in Health and Nutrition).
• Bruno Gualano (Universidade de São Paulo – FMUSP, Brazil) – Full Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine; President of the Lifestyle Medicine Center at FMUSP.
• Mauro Piacentini (University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Italy) – Professor Emeritus of Cell and Developmental Biology.
• Álvaro Penteado Crósta (Universidade Estadual de Campinas – UNICAMP, Brazil) – Senior Full Professor at the Institute of Geosciences and Professor Emeritus.
• Nguyen TK Thanh (University College London – UCL, UK) – MAE, FRSC, FInstP, FIMMM, FRSB; Professor of Nanomaterials at the UCL Healthcare Biomagnetic and Nanomaterials Laboratories and Department of Physics & Astronomy.
• André C. Ponce de Leon F. de Carvalho (Universidade de São Paulo – ICMC/USP, Brazil) – Full Professor at the Institute of Mathematical and Computer Sciences; Coordinator of the Office of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence at USP.

Additional Activities:

• Opening Ceremony: Official welcome and keynote address by FAPESP leadership.
• External Scientific Visit: A guided technical and scientific visit to the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS / Sirius – CNPEM) in Campinas.

The official language of the School is English. All keynote lectures, debates, pitch presentations, posters, and workshops will be held entirely in English. There will be no simultaneous translation.
